Man dies by suicide in Machakos

A man has reportedly died by suicide in Matungulu, Machakos County.

Benson Muthama, 33, is said to have ended his life in the Misuuini area within Tala, Matungulu subcounty, on Sunday.

Matungulu subcounty police commander Peter Omondi said the deceased’s wife reported having found him dead inside their house.

The matter was reported to the Tala police station as a suicide incident report.

“The deceased wife reported to have found him dead having hanged himself inside their bedroom,” Omondi told the Star by phone on Sunday.

Crime scene detectives processed the scene before the body was removed to the Kangundo Level 5 hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.

Omondi said they had launched investigations into the incident.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations sleuths attached to Tala police station are dealing with the matter.
