Five roundabouts along Uhuru Highway (A8) will be closed temporarily from Thursday, December 28, to January 1, 2024.

The two days will be inclusive.

According to Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Director Kungu Ndungu the five include Nyayo Stadium, Bunyala, Haile Selassie Avenue, Kenyatta Avenue and University Way.

"This is to allow for highway maintenance works along these sections," Ndungu said.

He advised motorists plying the route to approach the affected sections with caution as some lanes will be closed, and traffic subjected to share lanes.

Ndungu also urged them to follow traffic signs and guidance in place such as shall be directed by traffic police and Marshalls on site.

The Authority has issued notices on various temporary closures on sections of roads in Nairobi with some to be opened on December 31, and others in January 2024.

A section of Mombasa bound lanes of Mombasa Road (A8) at Imaara Mall Junction was closed on December 25 and will be open for use of December 31, 2023, at 4am.

At the Nairobi Southern Bypass, both bounds between Lang'ata interchange and Ngong interchange are also temporarily closed until January 23, 2024.
