The year 2023 is coming to an end and a number of celebrities have called it quits in their romantic relationships.

Kate Actress, Jackie Matubia, Vera Sidika, and Georgina Njenga are among those who broke up with their partners in 2023.

Internationally, Britney Spears, Pete Davidson, Joe Jonas, Ariana Grande, and Tyga are among those who called it quits in their relationships.

Vera Sidika and Brown Mauzo

Singer Brown Mauzo announced his breakup with his then-wife and baby mama

Mauzo said that they have decided to part ways, a decision he said was best for them and their two kids.

“Dear friends and supporters, I wanted to take a moment to share some personal news. After much consideration, Vera Sidika and I have decided to part ways.

“Our journey together has been filled with unforgettable moments, but we have reached a point where it's best for both of us and our babies, Asia Brown and Ice Brown, to move forward separately,” Brown Mauzo said.

Kate Actress and Philip Karanja

On September 19, 2023, Kate Actress and Phillip Karanja made it public that their marriage was over after six years.

“We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our children. Signed Kate and Phil,” the joint statement read.

Kate added; “Was never a secret, we just kept it private. To all our dear fans, Asanteni sana for the support over the years,”.

The couple was loved by many, but sadly we have to accept that they won't be together anymore.

Lupita Nyong’o and Selema Masekela

Award-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o ended her relationship with her boyfriend Selema Masekela in October 2023.

A heartbroken Lupita announced via her socials saying “It is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust,”.

The couple broke up after almost a year of going public with their relationship.

Lupita announced the breakup via her social on October 19, 2023. The two went public with their relationship in December 2022.

Lupita, 39 was dating 51-year-old Selema Masekela.

Akothee and Omosh

Popular Kenyan singer and businesswoman Esther Akoth alias Akothee confirmed that her marriage to Denis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer ended days after their honeymoon.

In the live session, the mother of five confirmed that she walked out of her short-lived marriage back in June, when she and Omosh were on honeymoon.

"I have moved on from it. It does not exist anymore. I want to tell you that I walked out of that relationship back in June. I will, however, not go into details,” Akothee said.

She added, “I did enjoy my marriage; I enjoyed my wedding. I don’t regret anything. I did my wedding on my birthday, just in case things went wrong, as they have done, I would not have any regrets,”.

Jackie Matubia and Blessing Lung’aho

Actress Jackie Matibia and baby daddy Blessing Lung’aho ended their relationship after almost two years.

Jackie made the revelation in 2023 after speculations surfaced online. The two met while shooting the TV series Zora and began dating in February 2021. They welcomed their daughter in June 2022 but unfortunately parted ways before her first birthday.

The ex-couple got engaged in April 2022 but parted ways barely a year later.

Baha and Georgina Njenga

Former Machachari actor Tyler Mbaya aka Baha and YouTuber Georgina Njenga also feature in the list of those who ended their relationships in 2023.

Currently, the two are just co-parenting as they have a daughter together.

Actress Bwire Ndubi and Dan Sonko

Kenya actor Dan Sonko made it known that his relationship with fellow actor Bwire Ndubi ended in July 2023.

“Bwire Ndubi and I are no longer romantically together. We are still very good friends, but when it comes to love/family – to each their own. We still maintain a cordial business relationship. I respect her as a queen in her own right. I care deeply for her, but the decision we arrived at was mutually agreed,” Dan Sonko noted.
