Mike Sonko, the former governor of Nairobi, has wished President William Ruto a happy birthday. It is the Head of State's 57th birthday celebration.

Sonko wished him well and a happy birthday in a statement on his X page.

He pledged to purchase honey, tea leaves, and a bottle of wine for the President which the head of state might never drink as he's a teetotaller.

"Happy birthday, Mr. President. May God bless you with a long life that's filled with nothing but love, peace, and happiness! I wish you a blessed and fun-filled birthday. May you rule Kenya for long. Nakutumia wine, majani chai na asali," Sonko said.

Moses Kuria, the secretary of the Public Service Cabinet, also wished President Ruto well and prayed for God's direction.

"When the Children of Israel reached Canaan, no one could even remember the pains and tears of the suffering in the wilderness on the way from Pharaoh's Egypt. May the Lord shower you with grace, wisdom, focus and fortitude as you continue guiding this great nation from Pharaoh's Egypt, through the pains and tears of the wilderness and on to the social economic promised land. Happy Birthday my friend and boss," he said.

First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto wrote his spouse a really touching birthday message.

Mama Rachel mentioned that the President and she are also commemorating their wedding anniversary, calling him her dear friend and confidant.

"Happy Birthday, Bill, my cherished friend and confidant. On this momentous day, as we celebrate your birthday and our wedding anniversary, I am filled with gratitude," Mama Rachel said.

Mama Rachel mentioned that as she thinks back on their journey together, a Bible verse comes to mind;

"There are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love."

"1 Corinthians 13:13 Kwa kweli mambo ni matatu Your love and support have been a true blessing. Thank you for being a constant source of joy and strength," the First Lady said.
