Dennis Onsarigo, Abel Mutua & Jaridah Andayi share how their kids performed in KCPE

Several celebrities took to social media to share with the world how their children performed in the 2023 KCPE examination.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu released the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) on Thursday, bringing the 8-4-4 system to an end.

In the results, a total of 8,525 candidates scored a total of 400 marks and above. This the CS said is equivalent to 0.60%. 

For the marks between 300 and 399, there were 352,782 in this category constituting 24.29 percent. 

Several celebrities took to social media to share with the world how their children performed in the 2023 KCPE examination. 

Former KTN investigative reporter Dennis Onsarigo said that he is a proud father as his son Andy Onsarigo scored 413 marks out of the possible 500 marks.

“Proud of you Moi Kabarak Primary School President Andy. 413 looks good on you champ. No? 🤓,” Onsarigo shared. 

Actor Abel Mutua’s wife also shared a congratulatory message to their daughter Mumbus who sat for the 2023 KCPE examination.

Without revealing the exact marks Mumbus got, Judy mentioned that as parents they are very proud of her achievement.

“You have done us so proud! Well done Mkamba wa Mama! 🥳, read Judy’s message to daughter.

Media personality Jeridah Andayi also joined the conversation, celebrating her daughter Norah for making her proud. 

“This One! My own. Well done Ma’am President. #KCPE,” Jeridah Andayi captioned her post.

How other students performed in KCPE 

Further, Machogu said a total of 658,278 candidates scored marks between 200 and 299, with this he noted the results were low, as compared to 2022. 

The 658,278 constitutes 48.49% 

Additionally, a total of 383,025 candidates scored marks between 100 to 199, equivalent to 27.05%.

2,060 candidates score marks between 001 and 099. 

"A total of 8,523 candidates attained a total of 400 marks and above, which is a drop from 9,443 from the 2022 KCPE exams."

A total of 1,406,557 sat for the 2023 KCPE exams. 

To check for the results, the CS said Candidates, their parents, and guardians can access them through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website, SMS platforms, county education offices, and their respective schools.

For the SMS option, the candidates should send their index number, followed by the initials KCPE (in capital letters) to 40054 in order to access the results.
