Leaders across the political divide on Saturday came together to celebrate love in Kangare, Murang'a county.
President William Ruto was the chief guest at a colorful traditional wedding of Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi and Murang’a County Woman Representative Betty Maina.
The two UDA leaders fell in love during the campaign period before the August 2022 elections.
Giving his congratulatory message, the Head of State wished them a lifetime of happiness.
"Congratulations, Betty and Eric, on your union. May your journey be filled with love, joy, and countless shared moments. I wish you a lifetime of happiness that continues to grow stronger with each passing day, Kangare," Ruto said.
His deputy, Rigathi Gachagua enjoyed every moment of the occassion.
The DP who has not been shy in expressing his emotions, found himself in the middle of the dancefloor.
" The Gikuyu Happy occasions are celebrated with song and Dance. I joined President Ruto, elected leaders and wananchi to celebrate the Traditional Wedding ceremony of Hon Eric Wamumbi and Betty Maina in dancing to Love songs as I wished the couple a Happy marriage," Gachagua said.
