Sen. Samson Cherargei of Nandi has criticised Transport Chief Spokesman Kipchumba Murkomen once more; however, this time, it is in reference to the JKIA terminal roof leak.

The UDA Senator referred to Murkomen's remarks regarding the leaky roofs as inept and lethargic in a message he posted on his official X account.

"To fix a leaking terminal roof in JKIA takes a whole year, then kumbe our roads in Nandi County shall not be Fixed. This is the highest incompetence and lethargy of CS Murkomen. Kenyans can now see. Shaggy "it wasn't me? Cherargei posed.

Following CS Murkomen's criticism of the previous administration for its inadequate oversight of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the senator made his comments.

His words were prompted by worries over an incident involving a leaky roof at the JKIA.

Murkomen added that the JKIA facility and the other twelve airstrips around the nation were poorly maintained by the previous government.

"When we got to the office, we found out that many of our airports are in a pathetic state and JKIA leaking is a result of that," he said.

According to Murkomen, the JKIA terminal 1C and I1 renovations were subpar since they were only intended to be temporary.

At Kwale County's Ukunda airfield, he made the declaration.

According to him, the government of former President Uhuru hurried the projects and failed to meet the necessary requirements.

Murkomen and Cherargei originally got into a spat in October over contracts for roads.

On October 27, the two got into a heated argument, with Murkomen accusing the senator of being against one of the contractors picked to pave a road just because he wasn't a Kalenjin.

"Cherargei, I want to teach you something. If the President was using a brain like yours, we would not be having the country now. I’m telling you the truth,” Murkomen said in the local Kalenjn dialect.

Speaking at the son's burial, the CS was Paul Biego Polo, MP for Chesumei.

According to him, the government was giving contracts out equitably, with no place for tribalism.

During the same funeral, the senator made a demand to the mourners, insisting that the road tender go to a local contractor.

"I hear that some people are saying that they want to bring people from other communities to be contractors. Give our children the priority of being contractors because if we don't teach our children to be strong contractors, we won't be competitive," he said.

When he stood to speak, Murkomen did not mince his words and told off the senator.

"What about our people whom we have given big contracts owing billions and are in Central and Mombasa? Do you want them to be chased to come home? As your teacher, I have brains and a plan," Murkomen said.
