Pep Guardiola admitted his Manchester City side may have "complaints" after Chelsea's thrilling draw, while hinting at the difficulty other top teams have at Stamford Bridge this season.

Cole Palmer scored a late penalty against his former club in a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's second historic clash less than a week after their shock victory over Tottenham.

Erling Haaland put City ahead from the penalty spot in west London, and while goals from Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling quickly turned things around, Manuel Akanji's header leveled the visitors again heading into the break.

Within 90 seconds of the restart City took the lead once again, with Haaland converting from close range, before Nicolas Jackson pulled them back.

Rodri's converted goal looked to be the winner with four minutes of normal time remaining, only for Palmer to make a late save.

While Chelsea sit tenth in the table, ten points off the top four, they are unbeaten against City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham this season.

"They are a very good team so there is no doubt," Guardiola told Sky Sports. "Liverpool couldn't win.

They were better than Arsenal and in the end, Arsenal drew. So you know, it's Chelsea, they're not going away."

He added: "I always have to think about what we can do to be better. It's not going to happen that we come here and win 7-0. They're trying to rebuild.

We have no complaints." Despite the late incident at Stamford Bridge, City are still top of the Premier League.

They have a one-point advantage over Liverpool and Arsenal, with Jurgen Klopp's men their opponents at the Etihad in the first leg back after the upcoming international break.

"We're going into [the break] at the top of the league and I didn't expect that after Arsenal's defeat," Guardiola said. "The next matches are very difficult."
