Nyashisnki, Fally Ipupa & Tiwa bring Nairobi to a standstill with electrifying performances [Video]

Revelers from different parts of the country showed up at the venue ready to have a good time and interact with their favorite celebrities who were lined up to perform.

The much-anticipated Walker Town concert went down at Uhuru Gardens on Saturday, September 30, 2023, with Kenya’s Nyashinski, Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, and Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa, South Africa’s female DJ duo TxC as the headliners.

Revelers from different parts of the country showed up at the venue ready to have a good time and interact with their favorite celebrities who were lined up to perform.

This was one of the major concerts happening in Nairobi, as the festival Season officially kicks in.

Gates at the venue opened as early as 2:00 p.m., allowing party people to secure their preferred spots that could enable them to enjoy the performance without any struggles.

The concert was opened by a set of DJs who played all genres of music creating a perfect mood to unwind for the night.

Afterward, the Fast-rising Kenyan Boy Band/Group Vijana Babubaru and Boutross Munene opened the stage for the star of the night.

South Africa’s female DJ duo TxC 

South Africa's Amapiano DJs Tarryn and Clair also known as TxC took over the Walker Town stage with Amapiano hits.

The twin sisters had been tasked to spice up the night and indeed they did not disappoint.

At one point they moved to center stage to put their dance moves on display.

The two sisters have quickly become one of the most popular and widely recognizable DJ duo that has been touring the world to what they love. Their Nairobi set was on point.

Fally Ipupa

Branded as the King of Rhumba, Fally is one of the biggest songwriters and singers in Congo and Kenya welcomed him with open arms.

The Tookoos hitmaker showed up on stage at exactly 10:39 PM ready to entertain the crowd with his amazing band.

When Fally took the stage, the audience erupted in applause and excitement. The Congolese maestro pounded out some of his popular hit songs, which kept the audience on their feet for the majority of the night, with the jubilant throng joining in.

Together with his able band, Fally performed for 1 hour and a few minutes.

Tiwa Savage

After  Fally Ipupa left the stage, Kenya’s DJ Protégé took over the set the tione for the next performer who was none other than –Tiwa Savage.

Tiwa arrived on stage at 1:00 a.m. singing her song 49-99,  followed by Ma Lo – a hit single that she featured Wizkid.

During her set, Savage confessed that she feels happy to be performing at home (Kenya) after her recent US tour.

The former Mavin Records signee performed a number of her hit songs and the audience was singing word-to-word, most of the songs.

Her band also did justice to her set.

Nyashinki

Being the closing act, rapper Nyashinski and his band delivered an electrifying performance at Walker Town.

The 'Mungu Pekee' hitmaker kept the crowd jamming from start to finish –as many could not get enough of his songs.

He performed some of his most loved songs among them 'Malaika' 'Free' 'Hapo Tu' 'Hello' properly among many others.

DJ Grauchi and MC Gogo were the last acts on stage all all the performances had ended.

Uhuru Gardens was packed to capacity with revelers having a blast the whole night.

Walker Town Festival by Johnnie Walker was celebrating its one-year anniversary since its inception, having been hosted in various regions, including Eldoret, Meru, and Nakuru.

Since its inception, The Walker Town has been graced by several big acts both local and international superstars including Joeboy, Nyashinski, Okello Max, and Ruger who have performed on different Walker Town stages across diverse regions encompassing Eldoret, Meru, and Nakuru.
