After just three songs, Diamond Platnumz's concert at Mtwara on Saturday night had to be cut short due to a power outage.

This happened barely 30 minutes after he had started his performance. The MC then announced that all of the disgruntled attendees would receive VIP treatment on Sunday after the epic failure.

"We start in the morning till 4PM. We ask you to come early in the morning. You that are here today are going to be VIPs tomorrow. "

The popular artist also expressed his regret on social media and promised to resume the event on Sunday in the morning.

"MTWARA!!!! MTWARA!!!!

(Mtwara, due to a blackout that happened throughout my show, from the early morning till the evening. Live performances by various artists will be held at Nangwanda)

He emphasised that admission will be free.
