It was all pomp and colour at the Golden Honour awards held at the Louis Leakey Auditorium at the National Museum of Kenya.

Being its maiden year, it was marked with a lot of pomp and grandeur as celebrities from all walks of life donned in black and gold to signify the start of a new journey in the gospel scene.

Among those who bagged the honorary awards were gospel ministers Pitson and Alice Kamande who encouraged artists to keep putting in the work.

Mercy Masika was crowned the People’s Choice Collaborator.

The award ceremony was also graced many other celebrities including Ringtone Apoko, Kriss Erroh, Boss Mog, Pitson, Bire the vocalist, Ezra FBI among others.

The ceremony also witnessed Live performances from Amos and Josh.

The Golden Honour initiative is a blueprint by FEMA that seeks to honor the consistent creatives who have contributed to the growth and evolution of the new wave in the gospel music scene.

It is a triennial (once every 3 years) model that was curated for the persistent best acts to crown the milestones they have achieved.

Nicks The President, who is the founder of the awards, mentioned that without the support of the government and other stakeholders, it would be impossible to scale the industry. He called upon all like minded individuals to partner together to do more for the stagnant industry.

"When we are together, we can achieve more milestones. We have just began and we are receiving tremendous support from all over," said  Nicks the President.

Adding "The future looks bright for the Gospel industry. The Fema team was also urged by artist to stand in the gap and make sure the artist get the embrace they deserve in all their endeavors."

The event was hosted by media personality Kalondu Musyimi and MC Noel.
