The High Court has granted Pastor Ezekiel Odero's request for a stay of the Registrar of Societies' decision deregistering his church.
Odero resorted to withdrawing the prior application that he had submitted on August 20 in favour of filing a fresh one on Monday.
In an effort to determine if the procedure leading to Odero's deregistration was legal and equitable to him, the judge issued the order.
Justice Jairus Ngaah in the fresh application said "Upon perusal of material placed before the court in support of the application, I am persuaded to exercise my discretion and allow the applicants to challenge the gazette notice dated August 18, 2023, whose purport is to deregister the society referred to as New Life Prayer Center and Church,"
