Celestine Gachuhi, an actress who is popularly known as Selina, has urged Kenyans to speak out against cyberbullying.

Gachuhi wrote in a statement titled "Stop cyberbullying" that this is a serious problem that affects many people, especially those who are well-known.

She continued by stating that it is a severe issue for victims who endure long-term impacts.

"Cyberbullying is a serious problem that has lasting effects on its victims. My dear friend Azziad has been a victim for too long. No one should have to face hatred, harassment, or hurtful comments online."

She continued;

"We are all human beings with emotions, dreams, and aspirations. Behind every profile picture is a real person with real feelings. We need to remember that words carry power and they can either build someone up or tear them down."

"I urge all of you, my amazing followers, to join me in fostering a positive and compassionate online community."

The actress asked her fans to speak out against cyberbullying, report it and stand in solidarity with the victims.

"Lets be allies and not bystanders."

"Let's use our platforms to lift each other up, to inspire, to educate, and to spread kindness like wildfire. Your words have the power to create a ripple effect of change, so let's use them for good."

"Spread love, not hate. Let's be the light that shines through the darkness."
