Sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala has made history becoming the first Kenyan to win the 100M race at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday (21 July) after clocking 9.92 seconds.
Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo finished second with 9.93 in the closely contested race.
A happy Omanyala shared; “First diamond league win. Feels great and thankful to God for this. 28 days to the world championships,”.
Ackeem Blake was third in 10.00 ahead of his fellow Jamaican and 2011 world champion Yohan Blake.
It was Omanyala's first Diamond League victory and one which ensured qualification for September's Diamond League Final in Eugene.

At the same time, Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon smashed the mile World Record by 5 seconds with a blistering time of 4:07 at Monaco Diamond League.
She becomes the first person to break all 3 records for the 1500m, 5000m, and mile all in one year.
She broke Sifan Hassan's four-year-old record of 4:12.33 in the women's mile.
