Azziad Nasenya, the well-known social media figure, left a radio interview with Mwende Macharia of Radio Maisha after being questioned about her reported termination from Talanta Hela Council.

The incident, which was recorded on a TikTok live feed from the radio station, triggered a contentious discussion over the lines between journalistic investigation and individual privacy.

When Mwende brought up the subject they had ostensibly agreed not to discuss, the interview took an abrupt turn. Azziad voiced her disgust right away.

She left the studios, claiming that the question was inappropriate and went against their previous agreement.

She left in protest after being taken by surprise. Mwende defended her path of inquiry, highlighting her function as a journalist, nonetheless.

She felt that in order for the interview to make sense and give the audience pertinent information, it was imperative to inquire about the contentious firing.

Mwende claimed that Azziad had offered a "no comment" in return, which she thought was a reasonable reaction and that there was no need for her to leave.

The event serves as a reminder of the fine line between a journalist's obligation to pose critical questions and respect for the interviewee's personal space.

While some contend that Mwende's questions were required to present a full picture, others believe they went too far and violated the interviewee's wishes.

Finding a balance between journalism's responsibility to inform and a person's right to privacy is a topic of controversy in an age where media plays a big influence in influencing narratives and public perception.

In a media environment that is always changing, the episode involving Azziad Nasenya and Mwende offers a chance for reflection and a reevaluation of journalistic practices.
