Octopizzo makes history as he becomes 1st Kenyan artiste to hit 1 million views in 36 hours

Rapper Henry Ohanga aka Octopizzo has become the first Kenyan artiste to hit 1 million views in 36 hours.

Octo dropped a new tuned dubbed ‘Sijawahi’ and the song has accumulated over 1 million views within hours of being uploaded on YouTube

The video that was released on May 24, 2023, is already trending at number 27 on YouTube.

Woman by Otile Brown and Harmonize was holding the record after hitting one million views in 48 hours.

Suzanna by Sauti Sol too hit 1M views in only three days, the same as Diana B’s ‘Hatutaachana’.

Overall, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny hold the record of artists who managed to hit one million views within the shortest period.

In 2019 September, former WCB signee Rayvanny set a new record in the Africa Music Industry, after a teaser to his video dubbed "PEPETA" featuring Bollywood actress and singer Nora Fatehi clocked 1 million views within 6 hours.

The 21 seconds teaser helped VANNY Boy to register a new milestone in his music career.

On November 30th, 2020, WCB President and Rhumba Maestro Koffi Olomide made history after the #Waah video garnered over 1 million views in 8 hours and 2 million views in 13 hours on YouTube. So far Waah has over 78 Million views and counting.

This was a new milestone to be achieved by an African artiste based on the fact that the Waah video managed to clock over 2 million in less than 24 hours.

The Waah video was directed by Director Kenny and so far it has over 136 million views.
