BBC’s Maya Hayakawa over the moon as son gets leadership position in school

In October 2019, Maya disclosed that she got pregnant at the age of 15 and gave birth to her son just two weeks after her 16th birthday.

Media Personality Maya Hayakawa is a proud parent after her 17-year-old son  Amari was elected as a prefect in his high school.

The BBC journalist shared the news with her social media family, stating that she is proud of the strides her son is making.

“My little man got appointed as prefect for his last year in secondary! It means he gets to wear this fancy black shirt and special tie, gets an office served with tea/coffee and snacks, a detention book, but most importantly added duties and bigger responsibilities to represent and lead the school,” Maya said in part.

She went on to thank God for installing leadership skills in her young son who will be finishing High school this year.

“I thank God for imprinting you with exceptional leadership skills, and I pray he gives you wisdom so you can lead the best way you can.

“All the best in your last year of secondary, I’m always so very proud of you! You’ve accomplished so much and you’re only 17. I love you, son.

“Swipe to see him being appointed Prefect in Prep 😭 where did the time go 😭Uni next year 🙀🫢,” a proud Maya shared.

In 2022, Maya was celebrating her son who had performed well in his IGCSEs exams.

“A moment to celebrate my lovely son who performed so so so well in his IGCSEs!!!!!

Maya is a mother of two and she got her firstborn son at the age of 16.
