Controversial Malindi Pastor Paul Mackenzie and 18 co-accused will stay in police custody for three more days.

The Shanzu Senior Principal Magistrate Joe Omido has directed the matter, in which the DPP wants to continue holding the suspects for 90 more days to be handled by his colleague Shanzu SPM Yusuf Shikanda.

The DPP said the previous 14 days that they had been granted by Malindi Court, proved to be grossly insufficiencies because of the nature of the case.

Omido said currently he is handling an almost similar case of Pastor Ezekiel Odero, therefore, he will refer the matter to his colleague Shikanda.

He also directed that the defence counsel, Elisha Komora and George Kariuki be granted access to the 18 accused persons.

Komoroa and Kariuki had complained of being denied access to their clients while in Malindi.

Rhoda Maweu, the wife to Mackenzie, was arrested with her two-year daughter.

Omido directed the Children's Department to look into the matter of the kid.
