Lang'ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o has said he really desires to be close to Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

He has, however, expressed fear that Raila's close associates could harm him.

“I want to be with Baba but cannot approach him unless he calls me, given the Machakos incident that trended, the people around him can beat me up and kill me."

Jalang'o made the comments during a live session on TikTok with media personality Andrew Kibe.

The youthful legislator said Raila needs new energy around him.

The MP insisted that his presidential dreams are still on course saying he has can never be contended with being where he is currently.

"I am still focused on becoming the President one day, the dream is still there, time will tell, and dreams are valid," he said.

Jalang'o booked himself a slot in ODM party's bad books after he attended a meeting hosted by President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi in February.

He defended the decision saying he was following up on the affordable housing project in Highrise ward in his constituency.

"We had breakfast with the President, I followed up on the start date of the construction of affordable housing in the Highrise ward and the completion of the Lang'ata TVET,” he in multiple interviews.

The Azimio camp led by Raila himself could, however, hear none of that and labelled Jalang'o and other ODM MPs who met the president as betrayers.

Jalang'o would later during an Azimio la Umoja PG in Machakos meet the wrath of the party adherents when he was blocked from attending the meeting.

He was allowed entry after much consternation but was ordered to leave the moment Raila arrived for the meeting in Mavoko.

Jalang'o has since attended a project commissioned by Ruto that was held in the Starehe constituency.
