Tanzanian Sheikh Sharifu Majini has warned Diamond Platnumz against deviating from his Islamic religion. This is after Diamond attended an Easter festival which was hosted by his media company.

In his speech, Diamond also read The Bible in Matthew 28:5-6 about Jesus Christ rising from the dead.

 "The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.'"

Right after his speech, the singer was prayed for by Prophet Clear Malisa.

Reacting to Diamond, Sheikh Sharifu said Diamond should choose his religion as Muslims weren't forcing him to be Islam.

"In religion, we don't force. If you see that the Islam religion is hard to you, you just leave and go to the religion that you think Best suits you. It is a religion with instructions and law. It is a must to follow them," he said.'

He added that Diamond was not wrong reading the Bible;

"To read the Bible, there isn't a problem about it because we also do so when we get into religious discussions, we read the scriptures when we are in discussion with some of the bishops. To read The Bible is not bad."

"If he went to the event as a friend, like we live with Christians, that's not bad. We see so many politicians go to churches and that's not a problem."

He insisted "Kama ameenda kiimani ni kosa lakini kama ameenda mambo yake ya kimuziki ni sawa."

He went on to urge Muslims that during Ramadhan that they should go back to their God.

"Diamond, mrejee Mungu kwa sababu ipo siku utaenda kukutana na muumba wako."
