President Ruto back in country as Raila's Azimio stages third demos

President William Ruto is back in the country after a four-day tour in Europe.

Ruto arrived at 8:45 am at JKIA  where he was received by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

His arrival comes a few hours before the Opposition holds its third anti-government protest in Nairobi and other parts of the country.

On the demos, President Ruto has insisted that anyone who will attempt to disrupt business will be dealt with accordingly.

He said that no one was above the law when it comes to the destruction of property.

The President also noted that the opposition demos are not about the cost of living but rather they are about "some election results".

Ruto left on Sunday for a four-day tour to Europe, Belgium and Germany with trade talks being the main agenda.

He met his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and held discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Kenya and Germany in Berlin.

President Ruto also delivered a keynote speech at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, outlining the challenges of energy security amidst the worsening climate crisis and the push for renewable energy investments in Kenya and Africa.

In Belgium, President  Ruto looked at key areas of partnership that will enhance food security and economic stability in the country.
