Singer Diamond Platnumz is gearing up for the official launch of  his airline business.

This is after the singer and WCB President paid a visit to the Tanzanian Airport Authority.

Chibu Dangote visited the office of the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority to hold talks about his new business venture.

He is seeking a licence to operate his airline business in Tanzania, plus an inspection of the said planes.

TCAA Director General Hamza Johari confirmed such a meeting.

They also spoke about the Aviation Industry in general.

"Mwanamuziki Naseeb Abdul @diamondplatnumz amemtembelea Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Mamlaka ya Usafiri wa Anga Tanzania (TCAA), Bw.Hamza S. Johari, Machi 22, 2023 katika Ofisi za TCAA zilizopo Banana -Ukonga, jijini Dar Es Salaam," said a statement from the authority.

In 2022, the Zuwena singer revealed plans to launch his airline business.

Diamond and his WCB signees held a red-carpet event at the airport for the launch.

The posters on the carpet were written 'Wasafi Air'. We learnt from the event that the cabin crew would be wearing purple uniforms with neon green scarves as the official outfit.

Diamond also shared a photo of an airplane and wrote, "Today we are traveling."

The plan was to launch the airline business in August last year but that appeared not to have taken off.

"I got into music then opened a record label, a TV station, a radio station, a betting company, and now about to open an airline called Wasafi Air," he said.

He also bought a helicopter, but it is yet to be shipped to him.

Diamond added that his helicopter will be able to fly at night, unlike most of them.

"It is an executive one. It's going to be there in case of emergency. Sometimes, we need to think about others, not only ourselves. People think we buy these things for luxury, but we don't."

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) is mandated to license all air services in Tanzania.

Generally, all applicants for air service licenses should meet the following minimum conditions:

1. The entity should be registered in Tanzania

2. Business plan

3. Proof of payment of the application fee

4. Memorandum and Articles of Association (MEMARTS)

5. Proof of financial capability to undertake the project.
