Raila Odinga: Why I am suing William Ruto

Raila Odinga, the Azimio leader now says that he will sue President William Ruto for defamation.

Speaking in Nakuru on Thursday, Raila said he was cleared of treason charges, but Ruto has continued to spoil his name.

He said the court found no evidence that he took part in the 1982 attempt to overthrow former President Daniel Moi's government.

“I was discharged from treason charges after the courts found out that there was no evidence linking me to the 1982 attempted coup. Ruto has spoiled my name and I am going to sue him for defamation, " he said.

The former Prime Minister on Thursday took his anti-government campaigns to Nakuru.

He was accompanied by Wiper leader Kalaonzo Musyoka and DAPK leader Eugene Wamalwa among others.
