Second Lady Dorcas Gachagua has chided netizens for not giving her a nickname after her husband, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was nick-named Riggy G.
She noted that she is yet to find a nickname for herself. “Nowadays my husband is called Riggy G, I am still waiting for my name,” she said.
She was speaking at the University of Nairobi while attending a boychild's event.
DP Rigathi himself embraced the nickname given to him by Ivy Chelimo in a social media post.
"Riggy G is melodious," he said at a primary school music festival.
He said the nickname had made life easier for people who would experience difficulties pronouncing his mouthful name.
"The young lady who decided that Rigathi Gachagua is a little bit difficult and not melodious, we need to give him the name Riggy G,” Rigathi said.
Rigathi pledged to help Chelimo financially, which he eventually did.
