Legendary Kenyan rapper quits industry after 23-year career

The musician was a member of the famous P-Unit group

P-Unit member Frasha has announced that he has quit the music industry. Through his Instagram page, Frasha said he will be concentrating on other things.

He has been in the industry for 23 years. He said his last performance will be of his birthday which will happen tomorrow.

"23 is a magical number for me, 2023 is a magical year for me and 23rd is when I bid the game goodbye officially.

Thursday 23rd, 2023 will be my last public show and also my birthday party. Come join me as give the last bow and celebrate my musical career.

"It's a new dawn. Making moves 2023 #mungumbele #makechangeinthesmallestwaypossible #itsmybirthday #FrashaFoundation," he wrote.

A few months ago, he said frustrations in the industry made him stop releasing music.

"It's been 4 years since I stopped being active in music and opted out of the music business due to frustration in the industry. Too much hard work with other people reaping the benefits," he wrote.

Frasha added that four years ago, he also pulled down his music from skiza tunes and other platforms because the music wasn't making sense. He said his songs are still played in clubs.

He shared a video snippet while in the studio with a few artiste, among them Tanasha Donna saying that he is back to doing what he loves.

P-unit

This was a rap group that consisted of Gabu, Frasha, and Bon'eye. They were the Sauti sol of Kapuka and everyone wanted a collabo.

They introduced voluptuous Vera Sidika to the world in their famous hit song 'you guy' the move also ushered in the era of curvaceous socialites in music videos.
