A typical Kenyan man has an average of 7.4 sexual partners, the latest report released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics has indicated. 

In the report, KNBS says women confessed to having an average of 2.3 sexual partners.

"Average numbers of sexual partners are 2.3 among women and 7.4 among men," the report read. 

KNBS's report dubbed Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 2022, said the survey was taken in the last 12 months among women and men who have ever had sexual intercourse.

It recorded that 35 per cent of men reported to having sex with a person who was neither their wife nor lived with them. 

"68 per cent of these men reported using a condom during their last sexual intercourse with such a partner," the report said. 

In the record, a higher proportion of men, constituting 15 per cent reported having two or more sexual partners in the 12 months prior to the survey.

"Of those with more than one partner in the last 12 months, 24 per cent of women and 45 per cent of men reported using a condom during their last sexual intercourse," it says. 

19 per cent of women had sex with a person who was neither their husband nor lived with them.

"Thirty seven per cent of these women reported using a condom during their last sexual intercourse with such a partner," the report said.
