Journalist Willis Raburu's fiancée Ivy Namu has shaved off her trademark dreadlocks.

The mother of two said she was letting go of her five-and-a-half-year-old dreadlocks for a new journey in 2023.

Ivy took to her Instagram page to share a video of herself with her locks before she left for the barbershop for the shave.

She said she had wanted to cut her hair in 2022 although she did not manage to.

"I am about to do something crazy that I have been thinking about for the last three months now. Last year then I stopped and I want to chop off my locks. I feel like I can't go with it in 2023," she said.

In yet another post she said her locs have taken her through so much in life and it was time to let them go.

"My locs have taken me through so much, a time when I felt like finding myself was a matter of survival. I’ve grown so much since then and I have been blessed enough to watch my prayers manifest into reality; I’m at ease and ready for a new era in my life."

Commenting on her post, her bae Raburu said he loved her even with her new look.

""Eish! Yawa a slice of heaven, a piece of the cosmos, a collection of stars gathered in one face. Such a beauty. Love it and love you."

Ivy Namu has joined a list of other celebrities who have recently cut down their locks.
