Mid this year, legendary Tanzanian rapper Professor Jay was admitted to Muhimbili hospital in Dar Es Salaam.

The Tanzanian ministry of health announced to cater for all the medical expenses for rapper and former member of parliament for Mikumi.

He was reported to have been in the ICU for days.

Well, the rapper's last post was in January 23rd this year until he recently shared an Instagram story of himself and his wife at a red carpet.

Before the Tanzanian government intervened, friends and family had appealed for help from the public.

The rapper's wife Grace Mgonjo had also called upon fans to join her at a gathering that was meant for praying for her husband's recovery.

His family had also urged the public to ignore a viral that showed professor Jay dancing at a party while waving at people.

This left fans assuming that he was out of medication and back on his feet. Jay's younger brother the spokesperson of the family, Black  Ryno said that it was an old video of the rapper at a past event.

"It is false, Prof Jay is still under medical supervision. He is being taken care of, at a private location," said the family spokesperson

Adding;

"I urge people to ignore that video as it is not a current video. It was taken in the past. It is just someone who decided to take it and post it on social media with their own intentions. Maybe that person wanted to catch people's attention."

"That clip is bringing confusion in fans, I insist it is not a current clip, it is a very old clip."

He added that the news on anything concerning Prof Jay will only come from one source and that is the family "We as the family spokespeople will be the ones to give fans any news concerning him, anything from any other people should be ignore," he insisted

His brother was saddened by false reports of the rapper's death.

He said; “It is a lie. He is not dead. Let us stop saying things that are not true.”
