In case some of you might not know who these great performers are, we have got you covered and will focus on DJ Rubba in this article.

Mpasho was able to interview the artiste who was not only delighted about the December show but was happy to also talk about himself.

Who is DJ Rubba?

I’m Samson Malonza, a Dj based in Nairobi. I’m 27. A graduate architect but currently training as a commercial pilot.

I started my love for music in high school and got a chance to grow and perfect my skills both locally at Music Technology Academy (Homeboyz Radio) and internationally at Point Blank Music School, London.

What is your style?

I can categorize myself as a Club DJ.

What drew you to Amapiano?

I’ve been a big fan of South African house music, from the days of Kwaito and Afro House. So the evolution of Amapiano was just perfect.

Do you perform for other genres apart from Amapiano?

Yes. I enjoy playing good music, from Hip Hop to Local music to Dancehall name it all.

What is your best-ever memory as DJ?

Performing during a dancehall event with 8000+ people in attendance.

His expectations for dripfest?

Honestly just pure vibes. I know it’s going to be such a good experience.

Why should guys come through?

The lineup is really one for the books, so trust the performances to be a great experience.
