Raila Odinga Jnr has congratulated his sister Winnie Odinga for winning a slot at the East Africa Legislative Assembly.
Taking to his Twitter, Jnr penned a congratulatory message saluting his sister for the winner.
"Congratulations to my sister Hon. Winnie Irmgard Odinga is the new EALA MP representing Kenya. Hongera," he said.
At the same time, Senator Oburu Odinga also congratulated Winnie in a tweet shared on his official handle.
“Congratulations to @Winnie_Odinga I have seen her grow and bloom into a confident and intelligent lady... She will definitely serve Kenya well at EALA,” Oburu wrote.
Winnie also jots down a message of appreciation to her supporters who have stood with her all along.
Winnie shared photos from a past political rally that ended chaotically and people lost their lives.
She then thanked God that she is still alive saying it is by His grace.
"Five years ago exactly today, as we left JKIA, 49 lives were lost. I am still here by God's grace. Fast forward to today, I am elected to be a member of the EALA. I am humbled. I am grateful. I am ready. This is for all the ones we lost on the way. There is no me without you,” Winnie Odinga wrote.
Azimio La Umoja will be represented by Kalonzo Kennedy, Winnie Odinga, Former Kieni MP Kanini Kega, and businessman Suleiman Shahbal.
Kalonzo bagged 262 votes followed by Winnie Odinga who garnered 247 votes.
Kanini Kega got 197 votes.
Kenya Kwanza takes Hassan Omar, Kering Zipporah, David Sankok, Mwangi Maina and Iman Falhada to EALA.
