Court gives verdict on the 12 charges facing Mugo wa Wairimu

In his defense, Mugo had asked the magistrate to acquit him for lack of evidence.

James Mugo Ndichu popularly known as Dr Mugo Wairimu at Milimani court on November 14.

Dr. Mugo Wairimu has been found guilty of unlawfully administering drugs to patients at his clinic in 2015.

Milimani chief magistrate Wendy Micheni on Thursday found that Mugo, who was charged with 12 counts was guilty of 10 counts.

The court convicted him on operating an illegal medical facility, unlawfully administering drugs to his patients among others. 

Wendy said the prosecution proved its case beyond doubt against him.

He has, however, been acquitted on charges of raping his patient and unlawfully hiring two students to work with him at his clinic due to lack of evidence.

In his defence,  Mugo had asked the magistrate to acquit him for lack of evidence.

He argued that he never met the said woman who alleged he raped her at his clinic.
