The name of her new lingerie label – Kimono – was revealed by TMZ in May of 2018.
And 13 months later, Kim Kardashian has officially announced her new line and confirmed the name on her Instagram page Tuesday morning.
The 38-year-old reality star and entrepreneur shared three images from her Kimono Solutionwear shoot while posing alongside models, adding a lengthy caption to talk about her new venture that she said was ‘coming soon.’ Kim kicked off the lengthy caption with: ‘Finally I can share with you guys this project that I have been developing for the last year.’
The mother of four continued: ‘I’ve been passionate about this for 15 years. Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work.’ She added: ‘I would always cut up my shapewear to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn’t find a shapewear [sic] color that blended with my skin tone so we needed a solution for all of this.’
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star posed in a skintight low-cut one-piece that grazed her thighs. She stood face forward in the center of six models wearing different pieces from her collection.
Kim wore her brunette tresses pulled back with nude lipstick on her pout beneath defined brows.
The stunner also donned a flesh-coloured bra with high-waisted underwear in another promo pic, with models wearing coordinating sets around her.
Kim was snapped facing forward in the front toward the left of the image.
In the final shot from her promo, Kim chose a low-cut bra with high-waisted shorts that featured an asymmetrical hemline – one leg had fabric to her thighs and the other by the bottom of her hips. Kim described the look in her third picture as ‘the solution short,’ explaining: ‘I developed this style for all of those times I wanted to wear a dress or skirt with a slit and still needed the support.’
She concluded her post with: ‘Introducing Kimono Solutionwear™ for everybody. Coming Soon in sizes XXS – 4XL in 9 shades. I can’t wait for you to feel this fabric! #KimonoBody @kimono Photos by Vanessa Beecroft.’
Since announcing her brand and tagging its new Instagram @kimono; it has already garnered almost 30,000 followers. On the new Kimono.com website, the about page says: ‘Kimono is a new, solution-focused approach to shape enhancing underwear, created by Kim Kardashian West.’
Adding: ‘Kimono is the culmination of Kim’s personal experience with shapewear and is fueled by her passion to create truly considered and highly technical solutions for everybody.
Concluding with: ‘Whether the desire is to enhance, smooth, lift or sculpt, Kimono provides superior options for all shapes and tones.’ Kim seemingly teased fans of her new project with a stunning selfie she posted six days prior; she donned a nude coloured skintight shapewear for the image with the interesting caption of: ‘Can’t wait for you to see #ComingSoon.’
The star appears to be wearing a piece from Kimono.
She previously revealed on her now defunct app that she wears two shapewears: ‘Sometimes I wear two pairs of body shapers when I am heavier, I def double up,’ via Us Weekly.
Adding: ‘They really hold you in and make you feel secure!’
In April 2018, TMZ revealed that Kim will be creating her own lingerie and shapewear line and that she teamed up with the same people behind Khloe Kardashian’s Good American as well as MR Porter and Frame.
One month later, the website revealed Kim had trademarked the name Kimono Intimates.
Kim and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney had closed down all of their DASH boutiques in April 2018 after 12 years.
Kim has her KKW Beauty and her KKW Fragrance labels, as well as has her own emojis – called Kimojis – and also her game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood; she also stars on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
She is currently working toward becoming a lawyer; she is completing a four-year apprenticeship with a firm in San Francisco and also planning to take the California bar exam in 2022, according to Vogue.
