Kenyans tell Maina about their terrible mchele experiences

This morning, Maina and King’ang’i’s conversation was about how people get drugged on the streets of Nairobi and end up being robbed.

Maina asked;

“Have you heard of people being drugged in town just by someone saying hello, blowing air into your face or bumping shoulders with you? To an extent of giving them your pin numbers, cash, taking them to your ATM… How do you explain this?”

A caller described how he got robbed of Ksh 10k;

I was buying a trouser from Khoja roundabout. I found myself in OTC selling it to get fare to get home. I don’t remember anything that happened.”

Another caller advised people not to pick things like bottle tops on the ground “I once did that thinking someone dropped it, wueh, I lost my money, my phone, everything.”
