The lowest point in Justin Biebers life was seven years ago when he was arrested for drunk driving and drag racing when he crashed a car.
The Yummy singer is however crediting God for turning his life around.
He wrote a heartfelt post on Instagram that resonated with his young followers.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, resisting arrest without violence and driving without a valid license.
On Jan. 23 2014, Bieber, then 19, while behind the wheel of a yellow Lamborghini, raced another car around 4 a.m. in Los Angeles. A responding officer said the singer’s car smelled of alcohol and he had bloodshot eyes and “a stupor look on his face.”
Bieber’s arrest was one of multiple clashes with the law — that year, he was arrested for throwing eggs at his neighbor’s home, earning himself a criminal misdemeanor vandalism charge. And the following year, he was found guilty of assault and careless driving in Ontario, Canada after hitting a minivan with an ATV.
“7 years ago today I got was arrested, not my finest hour,” Bieber, 26, wrote on Instagram Saturday, posting a photo of himself being escorted to jail by Florida police officers. “Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, [misled], misunderstood and angry at god. I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami.”
“All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something. God was as close to me then as he is right now. My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your today’, let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART.”
