Kenyans raise Ksh2.4 M in 1 hour for JKL guest suffering from breast cancer

Kenyans can be a generous bunch. Especially if you can tug at their heartstrings. This was demonstrated yesterday after they contributed Ksh2.4 M for 13-year-old Bianca Wambui who appeared on Citizen TV show JKLive.

This was after Jeff had issued an appeal for her by sharing a pay bill number to help Bianca raise funds for her cancer treatment. Bianca had narrated how she dropped out of school after she underwent an operation to remove one of her breasts.

She also told Jeff how she had been stigmatised by her school friends because of that fact. After the mastectomy to deal with cancer and now she needed money for radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

This isn’t the first time that money has flowed freely from Kenyans pockets to a worthy cause. In October 2015, Kenyans rallied behind K24 anchor Anjlee Gadvi who was diagnosed with liver cancer, helping her raise over Sh6 million within hours.

The anchor was hosted on Kameme FM’s breakfast show by Njogu Njoroge where she disclosed her struggle with the illness that has milked all her savings dry.
