Jeff Koinange was a great friend of Bob Collymore and as such had a view of him that many Kenyans were not privy to. Jeff, it transpires was with the Safaricom CEO on Saturday afternoon, two days before his untimely demise.
The multi-talented entertainer revealed this in an interview on Citizen T.V. He explained that on Saturday afternoon he had had to cut a lunch he was having with his mother and sister so he could to visit Bob.
Jeff said that Bob was prepared for his impending death, divulging that the doctors had told him he would be lucky to live past the month of July.
In the interview Jeff said;
We went to see him on Saturday at around 3 pm. We hang out with him, he was in a bit of pain, his spine was giving him some problem so he kept getting up and stretching his spine and then sitting back down.
He continued about the inspiring outlook that the Safaricom CEO had saying that he was prepared for his impending death. Jeff said;
I’m telling you, he kept saying, ‘Look, I have lived a good life, I have some regrets. It is not a perfect life, nobody is perfect, but I’m ready now.’ That was two days ago.
Jeff described his last moments with Bob, revealing an indomitable spirit that the great CEO possessed saying;
He was in great spirit. we hang out for at least a couple of hours. In fact, we were the ones who even told him, ‘Listen bob, you look like you are getting tired, we will leave you to rest’. he did not want us to leave.
Jeff said that Collymore escorted them to their cars, where he told Bob that he would see him later on in the week. Bob responded in the affirmative with the last words Jeff would hear his friend utter, ‘No problem.’
Jeff said that he later learnt that his friend was no more from Radio Africa CEO, Patrick Quarcoo.
