Keep dancing with the angels – Janet Kanini’s widower says on birthday

The late Janet Kanini was a woman who touched many Kenyans hearts during the short time that she called earth her home. The late Janet who passed on in 2017, would have celebrated her 41st birthday yesterday.

But don’t fret there are still people who keep her memory alive. Those people are the family that she left behind; Former husband, George Ikua has kept the candle burning as regards memories of the happy-go-lucky Janet.


In a short post he wrote yesterday, George acknowledged Janet was no more but her memory still lived with them. The hubby revealed how much their children were excited for their late mum’s big day, with them asking if her birthday meant there was going to be cake.

”Happy Birthday Janee! From us all. It is with fond memories and smiles that we relive your memories. That you swung by this blue rock and chose our lives to walk in. Keep dancing with the angels. Kids only asked whether this now means there will be cake You are truly warmly and fondly remembered,” George wrote.

The late Janet met George before she was on television and the magic of their relationship was greatly admired after she became ill. “I draw my inspiration from my husband and my two young children. I am a wife and a mother of very young children and they need me whether or not they like,” she back in November 2015.

As reported by Classic.com earlier, the former news anchor succumbed to lung cancer on April 1, 2017, after being diagnosed with lung cancer stage four in 2015. Her untimely death hit her family hard, especially her husband and their two kids, especially after she was declared cancer-free in February 2016.
