Why Jacque Maribe and Jowie have to stay longer in remands after being charged afresh for murder

Jacque Maribe and her fiancé Joseph Irungu appeared in court before Justice James Wakiaga for the hearing of their bail case

The duo applied to be released with Maribe’s lawyers arguing that she has cooperated with the police and that she is a parent and would love to be able to take care of her son.

Among the reasons why the couple might have been remanded again  is because

1- The court fears that Jowie might be a threat to himself having tried to shoot himself in the first instance, it is said he might finish what he started by committing suicide.

2-  He might be interfere with the case

3.He has no permanent residence given the fact that Jacque Maribe’s  house is now a crime scene so the court fears he might be a flight risk in laymans language anaweza potea.

4.He is a dangerous person for the fact that he owns a gun .

5.The prosecution feels that if Jacque Maribe went back to reading news potential witnesses would feel intimidated and refuse to cooperate.

The two will continue being remanded,Jowie at Iudustrial Area and Maribe at Langata women’s prison
