Classic 105 presenter Maina Kageni says the reason he will never marry is that he wants his freedom.
Maina was speaking in an interview with the Churchill show Journey series.
According to the radio legend, his brother and sister have children and they are happy. He is the last born of a family with three children.
During the interview when asked about when he is getting married, he told Churchill to tell people that if they wanna know why he is not getting married please listen to his show in the morning on Classic 105.
“Listen to the conversations and then make your recommendation to me, inbox. It looks like a lot of work. To much work.”
Maina’s breakfast show is mainly a discussion of what couples go through in their marriage life. Most people call in to share their experience in marriages.
Maina mentioned a prior interview in which flamboyant businessman Chris Kirubi termed marriage as enslavement.
“CK said marriage is a jail. I’m a free bird. I need to move. I need to wake up and decide I’m going to Dar-es-salaam tomorrow, no questions. I don’t know how to ask for permission to go somewhere. I’m the embassy myself,” he said.
In one of his conversations on his breakfast show, Maina and King’ang’i were speaking about how marriage ends up getting boring to a point of looking at each other like siblings; Maina responded by telling Mwalimu King’ang’i
“Never ever, so that I end up staying with someone who is like my sister? The things women go through just to look good for a man only for him to say he sees you like a sister!”
According to him, seeing how selfish men are…Marriage remains a meaningless word in his dictionary.
Maina went on to say;
“I find it crazy. men are the most selfish people in the world. Why didn’t they say it from the word go that such things happen?. They should so that someone can know what they are getting themselves into.”
