Julie Gichuru might look like she has a picture-perfect life but that is before one digs a little deeper into her experiences and what makes her tick.
The mother of 4 has in the past gone through some really tough situations like the loss of her 3rd born who chocked in 2005. Until yesterday, that had been one of the most painful experiences that the former Citizen TV anchor had gone through-that we knew off.
The media personality decided to reveal another painful anecdote that she had gone through as a young adult studying abroad. Julie wrote on her Instagram page that she had been depressed while studying in Wales in 1995.
The reason was that she was in a foreign country alone, her parents had just split and she didn’t have enough money to complete her course.
Read her heart-rending confession below;
1995 – 21 years old. 2nd year of LLB Law, in University in Cardiff Wales, UWCC.
I was in the throes of deep depression. My parents divorced, Dad remarried and Mum emigrated. I had no home to go back to. I didn’t have enough money to complete my degree. I was frightened and anxious. I lamented with God, I told Him I was so angry with Him, but I still loved Him and I asked Him to hold me tight and never let me go. I found two jobs at this point and studied hard. I didn’t know where I would end up but I knew knowledge would get me there. As long as I had breath in my body, I was going to get there. #Excelsior #NoLimits #AwesomeLord. Never doubt that you can get there.. Never stop moving forward.
The message resonated with many of her followers who were touched by her message of always getting back up despite the nonsense that life might throw at you.
