A day after comedian Eric Omondi opened about his drug addicted brother and lost him hours later, Huddah Monroe has opened up about battling drug addiction.
Huddah who is not new in the public limelight displays a confident face and not many would even guess that the damsel has had a rough patch fighting addiction.
She came into the limelight for her socialite status but she has dropped that title by diving deep into the business world with cosmetic world, which is also doing quite good.
She recently launched wet wipes and eyeliner and she mentioned she is set to launch cigars.
Huddah opened up about her drug addictions during an interview with Chipukeezy almost a week after he was appointed to the board of NACADA.
After his appointment, his first project on drugs was to help his friend, Eric Omondi who lost his brother Joseph Omondi just hours after finding him in a bad state due to drug addiction
“This is not the last image I would have wanted to post of my brother… But this is definitely the image I want every young person in this Country to see!!! Joseph Onyango Omondi passed on this morning around 3am, barely 12 hours after I found him in Downton River Road. He was addicted to Cocaine and other substances and was in and out of Rehab for the past 19 years. May God himself take charge. Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to help @chipukeezy @teamd2dThaaanks🙏🙏🙏
Speaking up on her addiction Huddah confessed that love played a role in leading her towards drug addiction stating that she started using drugs at 19 after dating a guy who abused drugs and slowly succumbed to the habit.
She opened up further saying, at that time she got into big brother only because she needed a form of rehab and she begged to be part of it. This was the only way she would leave her boyfriend and Kenya.
“The reason why they picked me is because I really begged them that I really need to go for a rehab or something. Big Brother was like my rehab. I came back na sikutaka kuwa kichekesho ya town. Sikutaka watu waseme ulijua Huddah? Muone sai amechizi ama amekuwa on drugs. So I decided to just let it go.”
