Residents of Nyang’oma sub-location on Thursday donated 40 bulls, Sh200,000 and 50 sacks of flour for the thousands of mourners expected to attend Fidel Odinga’s burial on Saturday.
Siaya Deputy Governor Ouma Onyango who is the Bondo funeral committee chairman said the contributions were an indication of how much the locals revere Raila’s family.
“By Saturday there will be more than enough contributions in food and refreshments to carter for about 10,000 mourners who are expected to attend the burial,” Onyango told the press at Kang’o village where Fidel will be buried.
He said ACK blessed the burial site before the digging of the grave began on Thursday afternoon.
Onyango added that arrangements at the burial site, and at Jaramogi Odinga University, Bondo where the funeral service will be held, are expected to be completed by Thursday.
