The sports fraternity and Kenyans are in mourning after losing Nicholas Bett, former 400M hurdles champion in a road accident.
According to daily nation, Mr Bett died after his car veered off the road and landed in a ditch near Lessos along Eldoret-Kapsabet road.
Nandi police boss, Patrick Wambani confirmed the death adding that Bett hit a bump before losing control of his car at Sochoi near Lessos.
Bett’s death comes just a day after arriving from Nigeria after participating in the just concluded Africa Athletics championships, where Kenya clinched 19 medals.
The 26-year-old leaves behind three children.
