Extraordinary Black Women: Lupita and mum Dorothy to be honored for  Arts education

 

A community arts institution will honor Lupita Nyongo and her mum Dorothy on October 21st, for leading by example as advocates for the importance of arts education through their inspiring accomplishments.

The annual Harlem School of the Arts will honor the two with the Visionary Lineage Award.

Harlem School of the Arts is a talent incubator for so many rising stars and established artists,

Its vision is to nurture tomorrow’s creative thinkers, innovators, and leader through exposure and training in the arts!

The CEO announced the message below:

In a message on Instagram, the school wrote

Dorothy Nyong’O, serves as the Managing Trustee of the Africa Cancer Foundation. She is the First Lady of Kisumu County and Director of the 7th Sense Communication Limited.

She is the First Lady of Kisumu County and Director of the 7th Sense Communication Limited. Dorothy is a strong believer that a cancer free Africa dream will be realized through Africa Cancer Foundation, as she has participated and organized several conferences around the world.

We are so excited to honor Dorothy at our Fall Gala this year!
