I spoke to Eric Omondi this week. The comedian was a joy to speak with and didn’t shy away from some of the controversial questions that I asked him.
One of those was his take on the current Diamond-Tanasha drama -Are they still together? Have they taken a break? The comic said that he had spoken to the pair and that they were o.k.
“You know they are both my friends. I have spoken to both of them and they are o.k,” the talented entertainer said.
What did he mean exactly when he said that they were o.k? “That part about ‘their relationship’ I don’t know but I do know that they are o.k individually. I also tried to inquire as to how their relationship was (like a blogger) but they refused to answer. Walinitoka! They didn’t want to answer that question.”
His answer prompted me to ask him how it felt for a celebrity when people surgically examine their relationship failures or struggles like they had with him and Chantal in 2019?
Eric said that being in the spotlight came with a lot of pressure but that one had to be able to handle it as it came with the territory.
“If you are a celebrity or a public figure, that is the first rule of the game. You should expect it and then handle it. People will scrutinise your love life, your finances and your family. They will say truths and untruths. If you can’t handle it then you aren’t meant for it. If the scrutiny doesn’t come then you are doing something wrong,” the comic surmised.
