The Eric Omondi and Jacque Maribe relationship took a significant turn last year after the two celebrities admitted that they had a son together.
Before they came clean that Zahari was their son, there had been a lot of speculation that Eric was the baby daddy but also that he was paying child support for him.
Since then, the co-parents have been seen together a lot more and haven’t been afraid to spend time together even during this quarantine period.
The comedian recently spoke to Reverend Lucy Natasha on her YouTube channel where he had the opportunity to share new details about his relationship with the former Citizen TV presenter, speaking particularly about how he had met the mother of his only kid. A story we might have heard in the past but that is still fascinating to hear again nonetheless.
“That is the question I’m asked most, some Kenyans just want to know about me and Maribe… We met at Radio Africa (in 2011). I was working at Radio Jambo and she was at Kiss TV.”
They then became friends first before they went on their first date at Sarit Center.
“Alikuwa reporter Kiss TV. Tukapatana tukakuwa marafiki sana. Tukaenda date pale Java Sarit Center. Tukawa marafiki na mimi nikatoka hata yeye akatoka akenda Citizen. Since then were tight. We’re the best of friends na sisi tunajiambia kila siku whatever happens, we’ll remain best of friends. Tunajikumbusha kila siku. She’s a true friend,” Eric told Natasha.
Eric who had been single after his public break-up from Chantal in early 2019 also revealed what he qualities he looks for in a woman when on a first time date – so ladies take notes;
According to the comedian, how a lady will treat a waitress or guard – will always determine how she carries herself: and this is why first dates remain important to Eric. He went on to conclude saying;
“I wish to date or work with someone with respect. If I am meeting you for the first time, U would watch how you treat strangers and especially waiters or security men. That tells a lot.”
