Elsa Majimbo is on a high right now. This month, the comedian just received a glowing tribute from American Teen Vogue magazine as a star to watch for in Hollywood. Not only that, she also started working with the Valentino fashion house.

But that all pales in comparison to the info she revealed to her fans this past week. Elsa you see has some very famous fans, one of them being the world-famous singer, Rihanna.
This weekend Elsa decided to show her fans the type of clout she has at the moment as she showed DM’s she and the musician have been exchanging.
An ecstatic Elsa revealed this information on her Instagram page while also showing a handwritten note that the “Umbrella” singer had sent her on her Twitter page.

2020 was 19-year-old Elsa Majimbo’s break-out year. Elsa who is a student of journalism from Strathmore University, Nairobi had been posting monologues from 2016 but had stopped until 2019. Her monologue videos went viral during the COVID-19 lockdown.
She first went viral in March after posting a hilarious clip on the restrictions meant to contain the pandemic that was threatening to paralyse the whole world.
“This year has been a whirlwind of discomfort and confusion for everybody, but for me it’s also brought with it a great lesson, that sometimes even the greatest obstacles in our path can be opportunities in disguise,” she added.
Her satirical monologues usually feature her crunching potato crisps, leaning back to a pillow and using a tiny 1990s sunglasses as a prop.
With an amazing personality and hilarious comical quips, she keeps netizens entertained with her jokes about the most relatable content.
Offering laughs about not wanting to work but wanting to be rich; not wanting to spend time with people, but wanting a boyfriend; not wanting to Zoom every day, but wanting to still be connected is something most of us can appreciate and certainly laugh about.
Her monologues were featured on Comedy Central several times in June 2020. Her monologues have been called out and applauded by Lupita Nyong’o, Joan Smalls, Miss Universe; Zozibini Tunzi, Snoop Snoop dog, Cassper Nyovest. She has also an ambassador for MAC Cosmetics.
So popular has she become, that Majimbo bagged an ambassadorial role with Rihanna’s Fenty where she showcases the brand’s glasses in every shade.
She won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite African Social Star in 2020. The 19-year-old comedian shared the news on her social media platforms on Monday morning and thanked everyone who supported her to bag the prestigious international award.
