Kenyan born comedian Elsa Majimbo has received glowing tribute from American Teen Vogue magazine as a star to watch for in Hollywood.
The article naming her said
“Before a co-sign from Rihanna and vacationing with Naomi, Elsa Majimbo, 19, was just an ordinary Kenyan college student studying journalism in the U.S. until her dry pandemic humor took the TikTok world by storm”
According to Teen Vogue, the young stars named in the list are credited with being at the forefront of the culture, pushing us to think, laugh or dance and cry. The article further says that it takes extraordinary talent to shine through a year of pandemic, protests, and a presidential election. But these rising stars did just that.
Elsa found fame for her pandemic videos, and still does.
Teen Vogue noted her achievements that include: becoming a Fenty beauty ambassador, partnering with MAC, appeared on Comedy Central, made Anderson Cooper giggle on CNN, hobnobbed with celebrities, and has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award.
Here is the article where she answers questions about being shamed for the color of her skin, her favorite tiktok video, and being a chess prodigy.
