There is an amplitude of information when it comes to weight loss exercises. We have many people giving up barely a week after intensive workout in the gym that yields less results. Weight loss is not only about workouts and exercises but also about what you eat. For you are what you eat.
Here are some tips that will help you lose weight effortlessly without necessarily going to the gym.
Work out alternatives
Instead of going to the gym, why not consider involving yourself in activities that you enjoy like bike riding, hiking, aerobics that are more fun and less stressful to keep up with.
Take a walk
A 40 minutes walk a day can lead you to your ultimate weight loss goal. Opt for the stairs when you go to the mall and not the lift. Personally this is something that I do and I have seen impeccable results.
Gradually cut down on foods you love
Progressively reduce on foods that are high in fats and in starch they make you fat. Add foods that are high on fiber like brown rice, brown pasta, carrots, broccoli, spinach, potatoes, and beans. I know this may be hard in the initial stages, but trust you me, it takes determination and self-drive to get fit and get to your desired weight loss aim.
Take enough water
Drinking adequate water enables your body to take in more work outs and lowers water dehydration levels. Health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon. This is called the 8×8 rule and is very easy to remember.
Share the piece of the pie
Participate in group workouts or exercise with a partner. Also you can share your meal when you have too much on your plate. Sharing is caring.
A portion of food put in a small plate will leave you more satisfied than the same portion of food put on a bigger plate. Simply because the latter will leave you craving more. So always use smaller plates, cups and spoons when serving yourself food.
Take a dance class
Dancing is proved to be among the best cardiovascular workouts especially for the lower body. You can attend a dancing class or put in a high-energy exercise DVD and get driven by the pros onscreen. Apparently, the right intensity, music, steps and a well-monitored diet can help a person burn 400 calories during one hour of dancing. People with higher body mass index can lose-up to two to three pounds in a week. However, people with lower BMIs or of older age may lose only one to 1.5 pounds (less than a kilogram) in a week by dancing.
Cut on booze
Fermented beverages are high in calories and low in nutrition, substitute with water or diet soda when having meals. Drinking alcohol and weight loss don’t go well together because alcohol can change the way your body burns fat. When you drink your body is more focused on breaking down alcohol rather than burning fat. Also, instead of burning fat, your body is burning the calories from the alcohol so it will take you longer to lose weight.
Alcohol can lower testosterone levels in your body, and this is a hormone that’s important for losing weight and gaining lean muscle. Not only does alcohol lower your inhibitions about the food choices you make, but it can also increase your appetite.
Working out might become monotonous and boring, when these happens try out something else that does not involve working out in order to come back revitalized and with more energy.
Losing and maintaining weight takes time, doing one method at time and choose what works best for you and suite your needs. As the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
