Dr.Rita Auma Obama, is a community activist, sociologist, journalist and author in Kenya.
She serves as the Executive Chairperson, of Sauti Kuu Foundation, a non-profit organisation, that helps orphans and other young people struggling with poverty.
Sauti Kuu Foundation’s goal is to create a platform for disadvantaged children and young people worldwide.
That allows them to uncover their strengths and realize their full potential to live independent successful lives.

Dr. Auma is of great demand as a speaker and active at numerous events worldwide on topics of socio-economic development.
Her focus here is on the relationship between the so-called ‘developing countries’ and the ‘developed states’.
Auma is also the author of a book, And Then Life Happens.
A sports and resource centre will be opened in Siaya next week.
Namely ,’Sauti Kuu Foundation Sports, Resource and Vocational Training Centre’.
The former US President Barack Obama, will travel and visit Kenya from July 15-16, where he’ll attend the inauguration of the youth sports center founded by his sister.
That vocational center in Siaya County aims to provide educational and economic opportunities to help young people serve their communities.
And in addition, it shares a similar mission as the former President’s Obama Foundation.
